This second opus from the Greek act DOL AMMAD is the true follower of the band's debut . Indeed, 'Ocean Dynamics' contains some very unique style of music, a style which can remind of both THERION and Jean-Michel Jarre, or even Vangelis. It's quite refreshing, original and pleasing, but the fact that the vocal lines are only choirs reminds of THERION so much that it's hard not to compare the two bands... and the advantage is on the Swedish side, for sure. Anyway, there's no doubt that DOL AMMAD deserves our attention, and this 'Ocean Dynamics' could have been used as the soundtrack for Luc Besson's "The big blue". This is due to the electro-J-M-Jarre side of the music and the several underwater noises which gives a little movie mood to the whole stuff. If you're still trying to imagine how this album can sound, try to put a kicking drummer (Alex Holzwarth - RHAPSODY) on electronic music (not techno !), make him play some cool and kicking rhythms while 8 opera-singers (4 males and 4 females) are giving a symphonic touch to the whole. The only problem to me is that my favorite track is the one with D.C. Cooper (ROYAL HUNT) on vocals, and I guess that it should not be like that when the band used only choirs.
